The Art & Science of YOGA

Yoga is often seen as just a physical exercise, but that's only a fraction of its essence. The purpose of stretching and performing the poses (asanas) is to cultivate a strong body that enhances  mental focus—qualities that are essential in our fast-paced lives today! I received the name Sri Devi at the Sivananda Yoga Ashram over 20 years ago, when I was suffering from the effects of PTSD after surviving 911. (but please call me Kathy).  I am a senior Yoga Teacher and an Internationally Certified Neuroscience-based Life & Professional Coach.  My practice integrates Principles of Alignment, Pranayama Breathing, Mindfulness and Brain-Based techniques that help to develop focus. This approach is specifically good for helping clientsI with anxiety, stiffness, arthritis, mobility and ADD.  A 6-week package is also perfect for someone new(ish) to yoga who wants to learn to do the poses correctly to avoid injury before attending group classes. Individual Classes and Class Packages are 60 or 90 minutes.  90-Minute sessions are a complete practice and includes Pranayama and Meditation
